Old Oak Annual Summer Coach Trip – Choose Where We Go This Year

May 9, 2017 in News by Old Oak Centre

We ask you all every year to vote for the destination of your choice for our Summer trip and we did the same this year.  Unfortunately we have had to pick the destination due to the high demand and unavailability of coaches in July to the other destinations.

We have therefore arranged for a Summer trip to Margate.

We hope that you will join on what will be a great day out for the family with lots to do and see.

Please come along and register for your place on 3 July 2017 from 10pm – 12pm.  This is on a first come, first served basis as places will be limited.

All places will need to be paid for at registration.

We will be travelling on Saturday 15 July 2017.  The cost of the trip is £8 per adult and £5 per child.

Bubble & Squeak Launch Crowdfund Campaign

April 25, 2017 in News by Old Oak Centre

Local kids ran social enterprise Bubble & Squeak have launched today their 4 week crowdfund campaign.  They have raised already an impressive £200 in their first 4 hour hours of going live!

Bubble & Squeak collect surplus healthy food such as fruit, vegetables and bread – redistributing to the local community.  They currently run a weekly surplus food stall at Old Oak Primary School Playground for local parents, as well as popping up in a few Stay & Play sessions at the Community Centre.

The entrepreneurial group of children are raising funds for a shipping container to store more surplus food, with the goal of running more food stalls in their local community.  You can find all about their project on their website or go directly to their crowdfunding video

Bubble & Squeak is a joint project between Old Oak Primary School and Old Oak Community Centre.
