Find out more about our free Mindfulness Classes for Pregnant Women

Our Free Mindfulness Craft Classes for new & expecting parents starts Friday 4th October in partnership with Maternity Champions and hosted by local parent Sarah.   We caught up with her to find out more about the class.

Why did you set this up?

As a new mum I realised how the daily routine of looking after a baby can sometimes lead to boredom and loneliness and I found that doing crafts helped me to feel like I had achieved something in the day as I had something I’d made. This class is to help other mums to learn new skills, meet new people, and have some time for themselves to create something.

What will you do in the class?

Each week we will cover a different paper crafting technique. The first one will be a simple stamping session where people can create their own greetings cards and matching envelopes using stamps and ink.

What are the benefits of the Mindfulness/Craft Session:

It will provide an additional support network for new parents, and they will also learn new skills. The focus of creating something can also take your mind off anything else that is worrying you. Maternity champions will be on hand also to help with any needs that your baby may have during the class.

A bit about yourself?

I have a degree in Maths and Management. Crafting started as a hobby which I have developed over a number of years and now I teach craft workshops and do craft demonstrations.

Eligibility : Parents in H&F. Babies 4 months and under are welcome to attend the session (Health and Safety reason children beyond this age are quite active and prone to picking up objects which could cause injuries, this cut off is to prevent that)
