Old Oak Community & Children’s Centre’s Christmas Big Tea Event – Friday 15 December 2017

December 20, 2017 in News

On Friday 15th December, Old Oak’s Community Centre and Housing teams joined together to throw a special Christmas event for our customers aged 60 and over.

A mix of local tenants, and other residents, attended this special Christmas Big Tea, built on the success of previous Big Tea events at the Centre, that we’ve held regularly for the past two years.

As well as enjoying sandwiches, a wide range of cakes, tea, coffee and mulled wine, we held a festive themed quiz, a prize raffle, and our guests were treated to a return visit by the very popular singer Dean Gee.

Dean and staff encouraged lots of dancing, with Dean’s mix of Christmas tunes and “Brat Pack” type songs.

One lady told us as she left that she’d had a fantastic time at what was her first Big Tea, and that she’d definitely be back for future events.

Thanks to all our staff and volunteers who really pulled out all the stops to make this an event our older residents clearly very much enjoyed!

Merger with Peabody Completed

July 11, 2017 in News

Peabody and Family Mosaic have now merged. Family Mosaic is now a part of the Peabody group although its subsidiary name will continue for a while. As a result of the merger we now have 111,000 residents in 55,000 homes spread across 29 London boroughs, with over 2,000 homes in Essex, Sussex, Hampshire and Kent.

Our new organisation has over 155 years of history, experience and expertise. Our mission is to help people make the most of their lives by providing good quality affordable homes, working with communities and promoting wellbeing.

Our existing neighbourhoods, communities and care and support customers will continue to be at the heart of what we do. We are committed to improving our day-to-day services, particularly on repairs and maintenance. And at the same time we want to do more to help meet London’s housing challenge. We will do all we can to expand the number of new homes we build across all tenures, while maximising the number of low-cost rented and shared ownership homes we build.

New Peabody Chief Executive Brendan Sarsfield said:

We will put the most vulnerable first, building as many good quality homes for low-cost rent as we possibly can. We’ll create great places where people want to live. And we will help our people achieve all that they can in their lives through wide-ranging support and community programmes.

All customers can continue to access services in the same way and will not see any immediate changes because, for now, the Family Mosaic name will continue. Over the coming months we will be working to simplify the structure of the group. We aim to complete this in April 2018 and will update this website about progress.

If you are a resident of Family Mosaic you will receive a letter confirming that your tenancy will not change as a result of merger.

If you would like more information on the merger please contact [email protected] or[email protected]
